For a fashion executive and her family returning to the US after years in Paris, Stedila Design created a residence that blends old farmhouse feel with modern details. The new construction, traditional style residence was designed to look like a historic barn, incorporating reclaimed materials such as an old barn wood. The interiors were taken in a much more contemporary direction, pairing statement vintage furniture – including chandeliers, light fixtures, cabinets, and dining chairs from 1920s and 1940s – discovered in Parisian flea markets with custom pieces for an effortless mix. Two French stone fireplaces bridge the traditional architecture with the modern sensibilities of the furniture. A very functional, farm-like kitchen was streamlined with simple lines and minimal palette.
