Sag Harbor Modern Waterfront

Sag Harbor Modern Waterfront

Looking to streamline and simplify their life, longtime clients moved to a modern house from a larger and more traditional house nearby. The house’s exterior materials – wood and stone – are repeated inside, mixed with grasscloth and color for warmth and texture. The owner’s antique furniture pieces, as well as an art collection from a previous home, were incorporated into the new home. Set against a quiet palette, the home’s mix of clean-lined contemporary and mid-century furniture and organic mid-century lighting let the bay views take center stage. A custom walnut media unit that doubles as a headboard was built for the main bedroom. The bathroom’s linear-cut travertine tiles repeat the horizontal lines of sky and water. The second-floor deck features a planted roof and solar panels.
